So guys, in today’s blog post, I’m going to show you how to turn your regular photos into viral cinematic-style images—just like the ones blowing up on Instagram right now—all with the help of ChatGPT!
Yes, you heard that right. If you’ve been scrolling through Instagram and wondering how people are creating those moody, cinematic edits in just a few clicks, then stick around because I’ll teach you step-by-step how to do it effortlessly. Plus, I’ll share the exact prompts I used so you can do the same.
Let’s dive right in!
Step 1: Download and Open the ChatGPT App
First things first, download the ChatGPT app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store if you haven’t already.
Once installed, open the app and sign in using your OpenAI account. After logging in, you’ll see the main interface of the app.
Step 2: Upload Your Photo
Tap on the plus (+) icon, then select the “Photo” option. You can either take a new picture using your phone’s camera or choose an existing one from your gallery.
I already had a photo ready, so I selected it from my gallery.
Step 3: Use the Cinematic Photo Prompt
Now comes the magic part. In the chat area where it says “Ask anything…”, long press and select “Paste” to insert a special AI prompt.
If you don’t have the prompt, take a screenshot from this blog or copy it from below. You can also use Google Lens to extract text from the screenshot if needed.
Paste the prompt and hit send.
Wait for 1–2 minutes, and ChatGPT will automatically generate a cinematic version of your photo. Trust me, the results are mind-blowing.

After processing, my photo came out looking absolutely stunning—like something straight out of a movie scene. You can simply tap on the save icon and download your AI-enhanced image directly to your device.
Step 4: Use an Alternative Prompt (Optional)
Now I’ll share another prompt with you for a slightly different cinematic look. Again, take a screenshot or copy the text and paste it into ChatGPT just like before.
Upload the same or a different photo and send the prompt. After a short wait, your second cinematic photo will be generated.
The result? Another incredible visual transformation! Personally, I liked the first version more—it had a richer cinematic vibe. But you can choose whichever style suits your aesthetic and mood.
Step 5: Save and Share on Instagram
Whichever photo you like best, go ahead and save it. Upload it directly to your Instagram feed or story. Trust me, people will start asking you how you made it!
